Hukilau Marketplace Update
Construction work on the Polynesian Cultural Center’s new Pacific Marketplace is progressing rapidly, and site preparation work has begun on the new Laie McDonald’s Restaurant.
• Every day the PCC’s new Hukilau Marketplace is taking more of its finished shape from among the plans and construction work, as shown in this recent quadcopter aerial photo (by Jack Baxter):
The PCC’s new Hukilau Marketplace construction site, shown from the Hauula or southern side of the Center (with the Pacific Theater, upper center).
• Site preparation work has also begun on the new Laie McDonald’s Restaurant, which will be located adjacent to the Polynesian Cultural Center’s Hawaiian Village and just north of the new Marriott Courtyard Hotel, which is also under construction.
The McDonald’s site work so far includes grading, installation of water lines, sewer, storm water and irrigation lines and the creation of a storm water detention basin. This part of the project also includes site access from Iosepa St. and Kamehameha Highway.
